Two Romito Engineering prototype SPK Active Ribbon mics were put to use at The Tractor Tavern in Seattle for three nights of recording Pedro The Lion.
About Romito Engineering
Romito Engineering was formed in 2017 as the result of one man’s quest to spend significantly less time huddled over a soldering iron in the back lounge of the crew bus repairing microphones, DI’s, and other assorted audio gear killed in action as a result of the usual rigors of international touring. While we all love the sound of studio quality ribbon mics and DI’s many of us have often found them to be too fragile to reliably tour with. Whether at the hands of the baggage handlers, determinedly brutish local crews, or even a monitor engineer operating with dangerously low levels of caffeine, studio quality gear is often rendered to dumpster quality garbage if not constantly handled with kid gloves. Entirely custom designed and built from the toughest materials available, Romito Engineering gear is designed to sound great while withstanding the abuses of modern touring.
